Nth's VMware Direction
Over the last year, Nth has been actively expanding to include VMware offerings specific to Server Virtualization, Containment, and Consolidation and to fully integrate VMware into its existing SAN, Backup and Recovery, and Business Continuity practices. This expansion demands the addition of high–caliber VMware technical resources to Nth's staff.

Position Outline
Position provides on-site client consulting, installations of hardware and software products, technical assistance, and support of Nth's product offerings. The successful candidate will:

Implement complex hardware and software solutions for our clients.
Provides on-site installation and troubleshooting services.
Focus on VMware engagements including:
- Capacity Planner Assessments
- Virtual Infrastructure 2.5 and 3.x Implementations
- P2V Jumpstarts
- P2V Implementations
- VI Operations Training Delivery
Proactively provide internal feedback relating to products or client issues
Conduct formal and informal presentations of technical concepts
Generate reports describing technical problems encountered and suggested solutions

Desired Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be successful in this position.

Education – BA/BS or AA/AS in Computer Engineering/Science, Information Systems, or related field
Experience –
- In depth VMware Virtual Infrastructure implementations
- Extensive VMware Physical to Virtual conversions
- VMware Capacity Planner assessments a plus
- Relevant technical experience with network administration & engineering
- Knowledge in Multiple OS, Storage, and Enterprise Backup Solutions (EBS).
Certifications – As demonstrated in our credentials and certifications, Nth is serious about investing in, training, and developing its employees. Qualified but uncertified candidates can expect to be supported by Nth on an early track toward the appropriate certification.
- Primary for this position:
VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- Secondary:
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
Any Operating Systems Certification (1st or 2nd tier party certification) or Windows or Unix Certification
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with clients
- Ability to learn and retain knowledge of a wide variety of technical information requests, and responds quickly to information requests
- Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments, travel schedules, and presentation requests in an unstructured environment
- Highly developed communications skills for interacting with clients effectively
- Ability to work effectively under minimal remote supervision

FileMaker Pro Database Developer
& Windows System Administrator Position

Nth Generation Computing is looking for a skilled IT Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in both FileMaker Pro database development and Windows System Administration.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop FileMaker Pro 8.5 relational database and Web applications
Troubleshoot and support existing custom database projects
Support Windows 2003 server and XP workstation environments
Support Windows domains, active directory, Exchange 2003, and security resources.

Education/Experience:

3-5+ years programming experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
Bachelor's degree in computer science preferred
FileMaker 7 or 8 certified a plus
MCSE 2003 a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
FileMaker Pro Database Development:

Strong skills programming FM Pro 8.5 database solutions including relational database design
Strong skills in User Interface Design
Experience with FileMaker Web Development – PHP a plus
Experience in systems analysis and project management
Experience using FileMaker Server Advanced
Experience using FileMaker with Citrix

Windows System Administration:

Experience managing Windows 2003 server environments
Solid understanding and support of networks, XP work stations and peripherals
Strong knowledge of domain management and exchange 2003
Experience with server security, upgrades and deployment
Knowledge of Microsoft clusters and Citrix
Experience with HP hardware, systems and storage.

General:

Our complex custom FileMaker 8.5 system is used to run our mission critical business processes. We support 45 users running Windows XP and are currently running FM Server Advanced 8 on MS Windows 2003 Advanced Server in a Clustered environment. Our databases reside on a redundant HP EVA5000 SAN with about 4TB of storage. Remote users connect using Citrix.
